Death, Dying, and Medical Ethics in the Time of COVID, with Felicia Cohn

Event Date:

Monday, March 1, 2021 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm
  • Capps Forum on Ethics and Public Policy
In a culture where death is often perceived as optional, Covid-19 has been an unwelcome reminder of our mortality. In this presentation, Dr. Felicia Cohn will explore some myths and realities of dying and changes in how we die. While dying is truly not optional, she will discuss some of the choices we can make.

Felicia Cohn is Associate Adjunct Professor IV of Medicine at the UC Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Cohn has served on several ethics committees since 1990 and is currently co-chair of the Bioethics Committee at Kaiser Permanente, Orange County, and serves on the Ethics Committee at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.  Her current work involves clinical ethics consultation, policy development, and ethics education.  She was elected President of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities 2013-2015, and continued on the Board as Past President though 2017.
