With the lush promise of living languages, worlds, waterways, and lands, this symposium will share conversations on Indigenous praxis regarding the survival and continuance of living worlds linked to living words through relationships with the land. With this theme, participants will locate these conversations in language (re)vitalization work and multiple approaches to the Land Back imperative.

The Capps Center is cosponsoring a special panel on global indigeneity, "Governmateriality and Indigenous Religions: Fraught Categories, Failed Technologies, and Novel Methods," featuring Greg Johnson, Director of the Capps Center, and researchers from Norway and the UK. This panel is also sponsored by the Governmateriality of Indigenous Religions (GOVMAT), a project of UiT The Arctic University of Norway funded by the Research Council of Norway.
