Maeve Devoy is the Associate Director of the Capps Center. She earned a doctorate in the Department of History at UC Santa Barbara, where she studied U.S. political history, with an emphasis on the Presidency. Her areas of interest include investigation of the Presidency, the history of U.S. government and institutions, elections, relations between the Executive and Legislative branches, ethics and good governance, and U.S. foreign policy. She is the co-founder and co-director of the Civic Engagement Scholars Program (CESP), for which she teaches a Seminar in Civic Engagement and Deliberative Democracy. Dr. Devoy also contributes to the Capps Center's ethics course offerings, teaching a class on Ethics and the American Presidency.
